Samba sensation backs Perez's policy of spending big to sign the best.

New Delhi: Real Madrid President Florentino Perez has so far been heavily criticised for his lavish spending by everyone from Joan Laporta to Luis Figo, but his latest superstar, Kaka, has quickly jumped to his defence.

The former AC Milan playmaker, who completed a €67.2 million switch to the Santiago Bernabeu last week, believes that Perez has a clear view of how to rebuild the team, and that he is not just simply throwing money around to show off his economic superiority.

"Each person has his own way of doing things," he said during an interview with O Globo. "Florentino has a very clear policy, a determined way to make things happen. He’s doing it so that Real Madrid will have a great team again."

News of Los Blancos’ official €94 million offer to Manchester United for Cristiano Ronaldo continues to draw mixed reaction from fans, critics and fellow footballers alike, but Kaka is adamant that a player like 'CR7' is a necessity for the Spanish superpowers.

"The move to sign Ronaldo was a great surprise for me, because everything happened so quickly," he confessed. "But it was a good surprise. A team like Madrid need players who can decide a game. And Cristiano is one of those players who can do that."

Kaka is currently away with the Brazilian national team competing in the FIFA Confederations Cup, while the Merengues are expected to close the deal to complete Ronaldo’s signing some time this week.
