Manchester City cure away problems with 3-2 win at West Brom
This is City's only second away win this season, which keeps them six points behind leaders Arsenal.

West Bromwich: Yaya Toure scored twice as Manchester City found a cure to their problems away from home by beating West Bromwich Albion 3-2 in the Premier League on Wednesday.

Sergio Aguero put third-place City ahead in the ninth minute at The Hawthorns with his 17th goal of the season, setting Manuel Pellegrini's team on its way to only a second away win that keeps it six points behind leaders Arsenal.

The only blot for City on a night that saw captain Vincent Kompany return from 10 games out through injury were the late goals they conceded, with goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon turning the ball into his own net in the 85th and Victor Anichebe scoring in injury time.

Toure had earlier finished off a classy team move to make it 2-0 in the 24th before converting a 74th-minute penalty.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini hailed his side's return to form away from home as City totally controlled the game until conceding the two late goals.

"We played very well. In other [away] games, we played as well as we did in this game, but for some reason we didn't score the two early goals like we did here," Pellegrini said. "We had a lot of chances to score, and for 45 minutes we were very good. The scoreline doesn't tell the story. It was not such a close match as the score says."

West Brom coach Steve Clarke acknowledged City's superiority. "We wanted to stay in the game as long as possible, but they managed to pull away with the two goals in the first half," said Clarke, whose team stands five points above the relegation zone. "You can risk a little to try and get back in the game, but if you risk too much then you can end up doing serious damage to your goal difference."
