Sevilla shrugged off a sluggish start with goals from midfielder Gzregorz Krychowiak and striker Carlos Bacca in the final six minutes of the first half.
Sevilla beat Cordoba 3-0 in a one-sided match where both teams ended with 10 men on Saturday, giving them provisional control of fourth place in the Spanish league.

Cordoba's Patrick Ekeng went on at halftime and only nine minutes later earned a direct red card for kicking Victor "Vitolo" Machin in the face after both had fallen to the ground.
Krychowiak also saw red for kicking Rene Krhin in the knee in the 73rd, before Sevilla's Vicente Iborra added a headed goal three minutes later.
Sevilla remained the only unbeaten home side in the league.
Cordoba stayed in the relegation zone.
