Villa will be unveiled to the public at the Camp Nou stadium later on Friday.
Barcelona: David Villa has passed his medical exam to complete his euro40 million ($49 million) transfer from Valencia to Barcelona, where he will play for the next four years.
Villa's contract includes an option for a fifth season and a euro200 million ($250 million) buyout clause.
The 28-year-old Villa scored 28 goals in 45 games overall for third-place Valencia last season and is Spain's second all-time leading scorer.
Villa will be unveiled to the public at the Camp Nou stadium later on Friday.
