Britney Spears has been ruling headlines for all the controversial reasons ever since her memoir, The Woman in Me, is released. Now, it has been reported that in her memoir, the American singer claimed that her managers and the press tried hard to present her as an ‘eternal virgin’ even when she lost her virginity at the age of 14.
“Given that I had so many teenage fans, my managers and press people had long tried to portray me as an eternal virgin — never mind that Justin [Timberlake] and I had been living together, and I’d been having sex since I was fourteen,” Britney wrote in her book as reported by People.
“Why did my managers work so hard to claim I was some kind of young-girl virgin even into my twenties? Whose business was it if I’d had sex or not?” the singer added.
This comes days after it was reported that in her memoir, Britney claimed she had an abortion to end a pregnancy by fellow pop star Justin Timberlake. She mentioned that the pregnancy “was a surprise” and argued that even though she wanted it, Justin never wanted to be a father.
“I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day,” Spears wrote and then added, “But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young.” “I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father,” Britney wrote. She further accused Justin Timberlake of ‘using’ her and claimed that she was ‘exploited’.
Later, it was reported that Justin Timberlake was trying to distance himself from his former girlfriend’s allegations. However, it should also be noted that the singer has not issued any official statement regarding Britney’s claims as of now.
