Connect Yahoo Mail to Facebook: Limitations and Troubleshooting
While it used to be possible to log in to Yahoo Mail with your Facebook ID, connecting these two accounts is no longer possible. If you can't log in to Yahoo Mail because it doesn't accept the Facebook ID from your connected Facebook account, you'll need to restore your account using Yahoo's Sign-in Helper. If you just want to add your Yahoo email address to Facebook to receive email notifications and verification codes, it's easy to do on any platform.
Connecting Yahoo Mail and Facebook Accounts

Restore Yahoo Mail Account Connected to Facebook

Open the Yahoo Mail Sign-In Helper. If you used to sign in to Yahoo Mail using your Facebook ID instead of your Yahoo account information, you won't be able to access Yahoo Mail until you disconnect your accounts. Go to https://login.yahoo.com/forgot? to get started. If you're using an Android, iPhone, or iPad, you'll need to go to this website in a web browser, as there is no similar option in the mobile app.

Enter your Facebook ID and click Continue. If Yahoo recognizes your Facebook ID, you'll see instructions for reactivating your account.

Follow the on-screen instructions to restore Yahoo Mail. This process will walk you through setting up a separate password for your Yahoo Mail account. Once you complete the process, you can sign in to Yahoo Mail with the new password using your Yahoo Mail email address as the username.

Add Yahoo Email to Facebook (Mobile)

Tap the menu icon in the Facebook app ☰. It's the three horizontal lines at the top-right (Android) or bottom-right (iPhone/iPad) corner of Facebook. Use this method if you want to connect your Yahoo email address to Facebook. This will ensure that any emails Facebook sends you, including those that contain verification codes for login, will arrive in your Yahoo inbox.

Go to Settings & Privacy > Settings.

Tap Accounts Center. It'll be near the top of the screen.

Tap Personal details and select Contact info.

Go to Add new contact > Add email. This displays a field where you can type a new email address.

Enter your Yahoo Mail email address and tap Next. This sends a confirmation code to your Yahoo Mail account.

Enter the confirmation code to confirm. Log in to Yahoo Mail and open the message from Facebook to find the code. Type or paste the code into the field in the Facebook app to confirm. To remove your old email address, return to ☰ > Settings & privacy > Settings > Accounts Center > Personal details > Contact info, tap Delete email, then tap Delete to confirm.

Add Yahoo Email to Facebook (Computer)

Click your profile photo at the top-right corner of Facebook. If you want to connect your Yahoo email address to Facebook so you can receive email notifications from Facebook (such as login verification codes), use this method. This will not allow you to access your Yahoo contacts on Facebook or vice-versa.

Select Settings & privacy > Settings. This opens your Facebook settings.

Click Accounts Center. It's in the upper-left corner of Facebook. If you don't see this option, click Contact instead, click Add another email or mobile number, click Add, then add your Yahoo email address as prompted.

Click Personal details. It's on the left panel.

Click Contact info. It'll be at the top of the right panel.

Click Add new contact. This lets you connect a new phone number or email address to your Facebook account.

Click Add email and enter your Yahoo Mail email address. If you have multiple Meta accounts listed below "Choose accounts for this email," select all accounts you want to connect your Yahoo Mail address to.

Click Continue. You will now receive an email from Facebook containing a confirmation link.

Click the link in the email from Facebook to confirm. Once you click the link, your Yahoo Mail address will be connected to Facebook. To remove your old email address, return to Settings & privacy > Settings > Accounts Center > Personal details > Contact info, click your current email address, then click Delete email.

Troubleshooting

I can't connect Yahoo Mail to Facebook to share a single account. Connecting your Yahoo Mail and Facebook accounts to share a single login or access to contacts is no longer possible. You'll need to log in to each service separately with unique accounts.

I can't receive Facebook sign-in codes or notifications in Yahoo Mail. If you've added your Yahoo Mail email address to Facebook, you should receive Facebook verification codes without any trouble. If you don't receive emails from Facebook in Yahoo Mail, check your Spam folder. Check your Spam folder. If you see the email from Facebook there, click or tap Not Spam at the top to move it to your inbox. If it's not in the Spam folder, Click the settings icon (the gear) in Yahoo Mail, select More settings, click or tap Security & privacy, and look for Facebook email addresses (usually addresses ending with @facebookmail.com or @facebook.com). If you see any, click or tap the trash icon or X on the email address or domain to unblock it. If the address wasn't blocked, return to More settings, select Filters, and check for any filters you may have created that move Facebook messages to other folders. Select a filter and click or tap the trash icon to delete it.

I'm not receiving Facebook email notifications at all. If you've already checked your spam folder, filters, and blocked address but still aren't getting email notifications from Facebook, you may have disabled email notifications. Tap the menu icon (mobile) or click your profile photo at the top-right (computer). Go to Settings & privacy > Settings > Notifications. Make sure you see "Email" below each notification type you want to receive, and modify your settings as needed. Select Email at the bottom, then select All to receive all notifications.

I can't log in to Facebook with my Yahoo email address. If you can't sign in to Facebook, ensure you're correctly typing your email address and password and that the Caps Lock key is not on. If you don't remember your Facebook password, go to https://www.facebook.com/login/identify and follow the on-screen instructions to reset it.

My Facebook account is disabled. If Facebook disabled your account, you should be able to recover it using this contact form. If you think somebody hacked your account and switched your main Yahoo mail address with their own, use this account recovery tool to regain access to Facebook.
