Things You Should Know

To access the Fell Xenologue DLC, you must purchase it from the Nintendo Store and get through Chapter 6 in the main story.
If you haven't unlocked the Ancient Well in Somniel, do so by speaking with Durthon at the Armory.
After getting the Fell Xenologue cutscene with Xander, you can access the Fell Xenologue chapters by interacting with the well.

Purchase the Fire Emblem Engage DLC pass if you haven't. You must have purchased the DLC expansion pass for the Fell Xenologue to be accessible in your game. You can purchase it from the Nintendo Store on your Switch or via the Nintendo Store website for $29.99. Fell Xenologue is the fourth DLC for Fire Emblem Engage, and is the only one that adds additional story. The earlier DLC waves introduced new characters, items, and accessories. Your game also must be updated to at least Version 1.3.0 as you'll need the Ancient Well location in Somniel.

Progress the main story past chapter 6. Chapter 6 is called "The Stolen Ring." If you've progressed past this point you can skip this step, otherwise continue playing the main story until you've completed "The Stolen Ring."

Return to the Somniel and go to the Ancient Well. If you haven't unlocked the Ancient Well yet, speak to Durthon at the Armory. He'll ask you to investigate a well near the training yard/Wyvern Ride. After investigating the well, return to Durthon and finish the quest to use the well properly.

Return to the well to get a cutscene with Xander. This is the initiating cutscene for Fell Xenologue.

Select the Ancient Well and click on Fell Xenologue to begin the DLC. Once you start the DLC you are not locked into it, and you can come and go between chapters if you like.
