Make Yourself a Money Magnet: Money Spell Jars That Really Work
Need to increase your cash flow? Or, maybe you have a major purchase coming up. Whatever you need, we’re here to help with easy ideas for money spell jars. Spell jars are super flexible and versatile, so you can totally make one yourself. While money spells aren’t backed by science, many people swear by them—and they might work for you. You’ve got nothing to lose, so let’s do this!
Things You Should Know
  • Layer herbs that attract money or prosperity on the bottom of your spell jar.
  • Add green crystals, like aventurine or jade, along with cinnamon sticks.
  • Squeeze in a few drops of an essential oil that promotes abundance, such as patchouli, cinnamon, or peppermint.
  • Seal your jar with candle wax, then leave the candle to burn out on top of your money spell jar.

Bay Leaf Abundance Spell Jar

Find a jar that's medium-sized or larger and has a lid. You can use literally any jar, so go with what you have on hand. Grab a mason jar if you have one, or a recycled food jar works great. Just make sure your jar is big enough to fit a bay leaf. Save jars that come with jams, pasta sauce, and salsa. They make great spell jars!

Layer prosperity herbs on the bottom of your jar. Add one or more herbs to your jar to increase the potency of your spell. You probably already have some—or all—of these herbs in your pantry, so use what you have. All of these herbs attract money: Allspice Cinnamon Clove Basil Thyme

Write your intention on a bay leaf and put it in the jar. Bay leaves are super easy to find because you probably have them in your spice pantry right now. Pull out an intact leaf and use an ink pen to write down what you want. “I want a bigger paycheck.” “I want $50 by Friday.” “I’ll receive unexpected cash, with no harm to anyone.”

Add a green crystal, such as aventurine or jade. Both aventurine and jade attract prosperity, so they’re perfect for your abundance spell jar. Simply place your stone next to the bay leaf for a little spell boost. You might like to use multiple crystals to add more energy to your spell. If you don’t have an aventurine or jade, any green crystal will work.

Seal your jar with green candle wax. Use a green candle to seal your jar because green represents money. Light the candle, and then drip the wax all around the lid to seal the jar. Be careful that you don’t get the wax on your skin because it could burn you. Just use white wax if you don’t have a green candle.

Rest the candle on top of the jar and let it burn out. Let the candle burn until it goes out on its own. The candle might drip wax down the sides of the jar, and that’s perfectly fine. It’ll just add to your jar’s seal. Remember not to blow out a spell candle because it blows away the magic. If you need to put the candle out for safety reasons, extinguish it by placing a glass over the candle.

Put your spell jar in a prominent place. Set the jar somewhere you’ll see it every day so you’ll remember your intention. For instance, you might put it on your counter or dresser. Look at it every day until your intention comes true. After your intention is fulfilled, you have two options for disposing of your spell jar. You can either bury it intact or open it back up. If you open it, bury the herbs you use and cleanse the other materials with salt water or sage so you can reuse them.

Money Magnet Spell Jar

Sprinkle herbs and seeds in the bottom of your jar. Grab any size jar that has a lid. As another option, pick a tiny jar that you can wear on a necklace so you can carry your spell jar with you. Many of the herbs in your pantry help you attract money, so you probably already have some on hand. Use one or more of these herbs: Peppermint attracts money Allspice attracts money Salt attracts money Chamomile increases your chances of success Ginger increases the potency of your spell Seeds symbolize growing.

Slip in some basil leaves and cinnamon to draw money. Not only does basil attract money, it also looks like it! Put in a few fresh basil leaves to add some oomph to your spell jar. Similarly, cinnamon draws money and raises your vibrations so you can attract good things. Put 2 to 3 cinnamon sticks into the jar to give your spell an extra boost. You can use dried basil if that’s all you have or if you’re using a jar that’s too small to hold a basil leaf.

Squeeze in 2-3 drops of patchouli, cinnamon, or peppermint essential oil. All of these oils attract money, so they’re a great option for your money magnet jar. Use one or all, depending on what feels right to you. Magic is personal, so let your intuition guide you. One essential oil is all you need, but go ahead and use what you have. Adding all three oils will give your spell more oomph.

Add a green stone, like aventurine or jade, and a lodestone. Aventurine and jade both promote prosperity, so they’re a great addition to your money magnet jar. Additionally, lodestone acts as a natural magnet to help you literally draw money to you. Place them on top of the layered herbs so you can benefit from their vibrations. Technically, any green stone can help you attract money, since green corresponds to cash. If you don’t have a lodestone, you can add an actual magnet to your jar.

Put in your lucky number of coins. Any kind of coin will work for your money spell. Think of your lucky number, and then count out your coins. Stack the coins in your jar to represent your intention. You can use play money if you don’t want to use real coins. Some people prefer to add bills to their jar.

Add paper or trinkets with money signs on them. While they’re optional, symbols increase the potency of your spell. Write money signs on a piece of paper, or use a money sign trinket if you have one. As you add the money signs to your jar, really reflect on your intention to draw money to yourself. If you have a small drawstring bag, you could draw a money sign on it and place it in the jar. That way, it’ll represent a big bag of money.

Seal the jar with green candle wax. Grab a green candle to represent money, then light it. Carefully drip the wax along the edges of the jar to seal your spell. Once the lid is covered in wax, let the candle burn down. Use a white candle if you don’t have green. White can always be used to substitute for other colors.

Set the candle on top of the jar and let it burn out. Putting the candle on top of the jar increases the potency of the spell and seals your intention. Simply let the candle burn until it goes out on its own. It’s okay if the wax drips down the sides of the jar because that will just reinforce the spell. Never blow out a spell candle because that blows the magic away. If you have to extinguish the candle for safety purposes, smother it by placing a glass over it to choke off the oxygen.

Place the jar somewhere you can see it. Keep your money magnet jar in a prominent place, such as on your bookshelf, desk, or dresser. Look at it every day to remind yourself of your intention. Take action toward your goal! Apply for a better job, sell something you’ve made, or ask someone for help if you need it.

Success Spell Jar

Sprinkle some allspice, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg into your jar. Allspice attracts both luck and money, and ginger helps you attain prosperity and success. Similarly, both whole cloves and ground cloves work great for drawing luck and money. Layer this magical combination at the base of your jar to start your spell. For a success spell, it’s best to use a jar that you feel comfortable keeping in your work area or wearing on your person. After all, it’s going to help you succeed at work, right? Use a tiny corked jar if you want to wear your spell as a necklace or carry it in your pocket. You could even put it in your desk drawer.

Include a tiger’s eye crystal for luck. You don’t need luck to succeed, but it’s great to have it on your side. Tiger’s eye is the perfect crystal for your success jar. Use a single stone or a few shavings to add some power to your spell. If you don’t have a tiger's eye, use a clear quartz stone. Charge it with your intent by holding it in your hand and thinking about your intention to be successful.

Add some cinnamon sticks for wealth and good vibes. In addition to attracting success, cinnamon also helps you draw money and prosperity. Best of all, it enhances the properties of other herbs and raises your vibrations so you attract positive things. Slip 2 or 3 sticks into your spell jar to enjoy cinnamon’s magical benefits. If you don’t have cinnamon sticks, ground cinnamon will work just fine. Cinnamon sticks just give your jar a better aesthetic.

Include a few drops of bergamot or ylang ylang essential oil. Both of these essential oils attract success for your business. Squeeze in 2 to 3 drops of 1 oil or both if you have them on hand. Your money spell will be both fragrant and potent with the extra boost from the essential oil.

Seal the jar with gold or yellow candle wax. Use a yellow or gold candle for a success spell because they correspond with luck. Light the candle and drip the wax all around the edge of the jar to seal it up nicely. Then, set the candle on the jar. If you don’t have a yellow or gold candle, a white candle will work as a substitute.

Let your candle burn out on top of the jar. Enhance your success spell jar by leaving the candle to burn out on its own. Wax might start to drip down the sides of the jar, which is perfectly fine. It’ll just seal your spell better. Don’t blow out the candle because it disperses your magic. If necessary, cover the candle with a glass to extinguish the flame.

Put your spell jar near your work area. Choose a spot where it can remind you of your intention to succeed. Then, let it inspire you to really go after your goal. You’ve totally got this! If you feel like the spell has run its course, bury the jar to end the spell. If you prefer, you could also open the seal and bury just the herbs. That way, you can cleanse the tiger’s eye and jar with salt water or sage so you can reuse them.
