Happy Birthday, Neha Shetty: How DJ Tillu Fame Actress Stepped Into Films

Neha Shetty, one of the most stunning and talented Telugu actresses, celebrates her 29th birthday today, on December 6. She made her debut in the film industry with the movie Mungaru Male 2 but attained stardom with the film DJ Tillu. She played the role of M Radhika in this movie directed by Vimal Krishna. She was also nominated for the South Indian International Movie Awards under the Best Actress in a Leading Role category for this film. Neha Shetty has not looked back, ever since DJ Tillu turned out to be a blockbuster. She has become a heartthrob among the youth. It was not an easy task for Neha to cement her position in the film industry as she had no contacts. She revealed this in an earlier exclusive interview with South First. She said, “A lot of girls entered showbiz from Mangalore, and I began studying their career path. I took up dancing and modelling and won a couple of beauty pageants. Just when I was finishing my 12th standard, I got an offer to work in Mungaru Male 2 (2016)". Neha added that she moved to Hyderabad after completing filming for this Kannada romantic drama. There she learnt Telugu and this helped her in a big way in securing projects. According to Neha, for three months, she watched three films a day to get a grasp of Telugu before she started working on Mehbooba (2018).

Neha is currently at the pinnacle of her career in the film industry. Her song Sammohanuda from the film Rules Ranjann became a raging hit on the internet. She left the audience hooked to the screens with her amazing dancing skills. The official video of this chartbuster has garnered more than 5 million views. Shreya Ghoshal lent her vocals to this song penned by Rathinam Krishna and Rambabu Gosala. Amrish has composed this track.

Currently, Neha is awaiting the release of her movie Gangs of Godavari, written and directed by Krishna Chaitanya. Vishwak Sen, Nassar, Anjali, Sai Kumar, and Goparaju Ramana have also acted in this film.
