Vijay's Action-Packed Leo Roars On Netflix, Debunks OTT Duration Rumours

Tamil star Thalapathy Vijay’s action drama film Leo has started streaming on Netflix in India From November 24. It was reported that the OTT version for Vijay’s fans was longer than the version shown in theatres. It was reported that the OTT version of Leo will be 3 hours and 6 minutes long. The theatre version of the film was 2 hours and 45 minutes long. These reports, however, turned out to be fake. One of the film reviewers Laxmi Kanth has confirmed this fact on Twitter. He wrote in the caption,” #LEO – Netflix Version is Not Uncensored/UnCut Version.. English Dubbed version soon WW.. #ThalapathyVijay | #LokeshKanagaraj”.

The movie premiered on November 24 at 12:30 PM in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. In addition to Vijay, Leo features a star-studded ensemble cast, including Sanjay Dutt, Trisha Krishnan, Arjun, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, and Priya Anand. Lokesh Kanagaraj has directed this film. The screenplay of Leo is a collaborative effort of Rathna Kumar, Deeraj Vaidy, and Lokesh. As per the Times of India report, Leo has grossed over Rs 625 crore. It has become the highest-grossing Tamil film of Vijay’s career and 2023 as well. Leo is inspired by the premise of the classic graphic novel A History of Violence. Actor Krushna Abhishek was dubbed for Vijay and Eijaz Khan was dubbed for Arjun Sarja in Leo’s Hindi version. Anirudh Ravichander has scored the music for this film.

There are reports that Leo will have a sequel as well. As per the reports, Leo 2 could be released at the cinemas by 2026 at the earliest. The ending of Leo hints toward a prospective sequel. Moreover, it was reported in August 2023 that Leo would have a second instalment. Its production would begin after Lokesh has wrapped the shooting of Thalaivar 170, Kaithi 2, and Vikram 2. Thalaivar 170 is a film starring Rajinikanth, while Kaithi 2 and Vikram 2 are future entries in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe. It can be reported that the filming for Leo 2 would begin at least two years later.
