Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel have been killed and several security personnel have sustained injuries in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast in Chhattisgarh’s Naxal insurgency-affected Sukma district.
According to sources, the Naxalites targeted a truck carrying security forces with an IED blast around 3 pm on Sunday within the Jagar Gunda police station limits between Silger and Tekulagudem when they were on their way to fetch their weekly groceries.

The COBRA 201 jawans, who lost their lives, have been identified as 35-year-old Vishnu R from Kerala’s Trivandrum and 29-year-old Shailendra from Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur.
Rescue teams have been rushed to the spot and the injured jawans have been taken to the hospital.
This comes a day after an anti-Naxal operation directed the Chhattisgarh Police towards a racket printing counterfeit notes that were being used to destabilise the local economy in the Sukma district. Police had found currency printers, ink, and notes of several denominations.
The startling find was made during a joint search operation by the Sukma Police, the District Reserve Guard, and the CRPF in the forests of Korajguda on Saturday.
Sukma District police chief Kiran said, “During a raid at a Maoist camp launched in the area, printers, ink, and fake notes were seized.”
