Two persons were seriously injured in an explosion at the town railway station in Rahahmundry on Tuesday night.

Two persons were seriously injured in an explosion at the town railway station here on Tuesday night.

 Passengers ran helter skelter on hearing the explosion.

 Soon after getting the news, additional superintendent of police Varadarajulu and South Zone DSP Raja Gopal rushed to the railway station to probe the blast.

 Police said, an unidentified person approached Krishna of Korukonda while he was going into the railway station and asked him to keep his plastic bag for sometime.

 But Krishna refused to concede his request.

 In the meantime, the explosives in the bag went off, causing injuries to two persons.

 Explosives were tied to iron rods.

 The police are questioning Krishna about the miscreant.
