Like many US Presidents before him President Obama has also been the subject of many movies and documentaries. He has been portrayed by other actors in movies and has many documentaries made about him during his election campaigns and also during his presidency. We line up some examples for you.
Bollywood film 'My name is Khan' starring Shah Rukh Khan saw actor Christopher B. Duncan playing President Obama who meets Shah Rukh Khan's character towards the end of the film.
Another film made in Indonesian called 'Obama Anak Menteng' is based on Damien Dematra novel by the same name. It is a fictionalized account of the childhood of Barack Obama, who lived in Indonesia from 1967 to 1971.
'2016: Obama's America' is a documentary by conservative author and commentator Dinesh D'Souza. The film compares the similarities between Obama and D'Souza and how the President's decisions are based on his childhood events.
'I Want Your Money' is another satirical documentary which shows the contrast between President Obama and former US President Ronald Reagan of the Republican party.
'The Butler' the films directed by Lee Daniels is partially based on the life of Eugene Allen an African-American butler in the White House, who in his 34 year tenure was an eyewitness to some of the most important events of the 20th century. Actor Orlando Eric Street portrayed President Obama in the film in a cameo.
