BANGALORE: A 25-year-old woman drowned herself, along with her three-yearold daughter, at the Manchanabele dam in Tavarekere police station limits in Ramanagaram district on Monday night.The deceased has been identified as Asha and her daugher as Pooja.Asha who had left home on Monday morning with her daughter Pooja after she had quarrelled with her husband Girish and did not return in the night. On Tuesday morning, her family lodged a missing case with the police.The incident came to light when the guard of the dam raised an alarm about two unidentified bodies on Tuesday morning. The fire personnel rushed to the place and fished out the bodies.Police said that her husband, a labourer, and she used to fight often and that he suspected her of infidelity.Asha had even complained about her husband to the Bidadi police and the police in turn had summoned him.The family was staying at Dodderi village in Tavarekere for the last three months.Now Girish is absconding, the police said.Pirated DVDs Worth `2.7 Lakh RecoveredThe sleuths of the east division’s DCP squad have arrested two persons for allegedly selling pirated and pornographic DVDs and have recovered pirated DVDs worth over `2.76 lakh, a DVD player, three mobile phones and cash.The accused are identified as Kamalesh Kumar Lohani (24) of Jharkhand and Sujith Kumar Maanji (19) of Bihar.They were residents at Old Binnamangala first phase in Indiranagar.The police said that the accused were allegedly selling pirated DVDs and they had stocked it at their residence.On a tip off, the police raided the house and nabbed them.
