3 injured in clash between two groups

KASARGOD: Three persons sustained serious injuries, three houses stoned and two shops attacked in Mangad near Uduma following clashes between two groups of people on Wednesday night.The trouble started when two persons returning home in motorbikes were waylaid and attacked in Mangad on Wednesday night. M V Balachandran and A M Sudhakaran, who sustained stab injuries were rushed to a private hospital in Mangalore.Subsequently, two local clubs were attacked by the miscreants and another man was also injured. In retaliation, another group ransacked an electronic shop owned by Assainar, a native of Uduma. Besides ravaging his shop, Assainar was beaten up badly and he too was admitted to hospital.Assainar was attacked since his brother was allegedly involved in the attack on two persons in Mangad earlier.The houses of Muhammed Kunhi, Abdul Rahman and Khalid were attacked in Aramanganam. A strong police pickets have been posted in the area following the clashes.The Mangad and surrounding areas had witnessed clashes between two groups of people earlier but was remaining calm for sometime.
