6 burglars held for theft of computers

VIJAYAWADA: Gannavaram police nabbed a gang of 6 burglars for stealing computers from government high schools in the mandal here on Saturday and recovered computers and other accessories worth `5 lakh. Speaking to the media, deputy commissioner of police M Ravindranath Babu, said on a tip off from intelligence, they nabbed the gang. The gang was involved in four theft cases of computers as reported from Daawaji Gudem, Gollanapalli, Musthabad and Veerapanenigudem high schools between last year June and March this year. The police recovery includes 21 LCDs, seven UPS, seven CPUs, four servers, 13 key boards, six speakers, 13 mouse, seven converters, one printer and two television sets. The burglars have been identified as G. Sitaramiah (25), presently a private school teacher near Gannavaram; N. Durgaprasad (27), G. Srinu (20), a graduate; D. Gurga Rao (20), A.Balakrishna (25) and N. Durgaprasad (22), an auto driver.
