Thalapathy Vijay starrer’s much-anticipated film The Greatest of All Time was released at the cinemas today to overwhelmingly positive reviews. According to Local 18 Tamil, the film created a further furore when a 90-year-old lady from Puducherry’s Vazhakulam locality went to watch it. The lady arrived at the Balaji Theater, Puducherry to watch the film. Vijay’s fans greeted the lady by showering flowers on her, touching her feet and taking the elderly woman’s blessings. In the Local 18 Tamil visual, the lady jubilantly shows her film ticket in front of the cameras. Vijay’s fans can be seen holding flags and surrounding the lady with smiles on their faces.
In the video’s other visuals, Vijay’s followers can be spotted dancing with brilliant coordination in their dance steps. In the backdrop, fans are holding cutouts of Vijay and showering flowers on the dancers. Some of them are also holding Vijay’s political outfit Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam’s flag. The flag is red and maroon at the top and bottom and yellow in the middle with two elephants and a Vaagai flower, which symbolises victory. Vijay’s fans kept on dancing for a long time in front of the theatres showing their support for his film GOAT.
The fervour for GOAT is such that the Tamil Nadu government reportedly allowed its early screening in only 1 theatre in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The theatre’s name is Broadway Cinemas and the early screening occurred here at 7 AM. In the other parts of Tamil Nadu, the first screening was scheduled at 9:00 AM. The permission for the special screening was requested for two days. The State Government allowed the permit for a day only. Prabhu Deva, Sneha, Yogi Babu and others have played pivotal roles in The Greatest Of All Time.
The Greatest Of All Time has been making headlines on social media since its inception. This project is attracting more attention than any of Vijay’s other films primarily because it is one of his last projects. The GOAT actor had previously said that he would move away from films after he started his political career. Vijay’s political party, Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam was launched in February and the actor had said he would be contesting the 2026 State Assembly Elections.
