DrinkSavvy cups and straws are expected to be ready by September 2013, and available to the public by mid 2014.
New Delhi: With the view to combat date rape drugs, DrinkSavvy has come up with drug-detecting plastic cups and straws that can detect the most commonly-used date rape drugs - GHB, Rohypnol and Ketamine. The cups are engineered with sensing strips which turn red when drugs are detected in a drink.
"If anyone puts a date rape drug into your drink, the DrinkSavvy party cup will immediately provide a visible colour change, even in low lit bars, warning you to throw your drink out," says the company.
DrinkSavvy cups and straws are expected to be ready by September 2013, and available to the public by mid 2014.
