ACB sleuths inspect IMFL records

WARANGAL: Continuing their probe into nexus between liquor syndicates and politicians, the Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths inspected records in the Excise department’s IMFL depot in Warangal district.During the inspection, which began on Tuesday night and continued till Wednesday evening, the sleuths collected information about supply of liquor to the 231 wine shops and 92 bars in the district from 2010 till date. They also examined the payments made by the shop owners through demand drafts and the quantity of liquor bought by them.It is learnt that 60 percent of the liquor shops in Warangal district are being run under benami licences and that majority of the benami owners are white ration card holders.
