Action plan at earliest for pre-rain works: CM

HYDERABAD: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy asked officials on Wednesday to prepare an action plan on proposed works to be taken up, to combat flooding during the ensuing monsoon.He wanted all concerned departments to submit the action plan at the earliest and initiate works, so that they can be completed before the rains. A meeting of the concerned departments will be held soon.The chief minister said inunadation of low-lying areas during the monsoons in the GHMC limits has been a matter of concern during the last few years. He said inundation of low areas throws traffic out of gear and people living in these areas face a lot of hardship.To improve the condition of low-lying areas, a large number of works are to be taken up the civic body, Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) and city traffic police.
