New Delhi: Bipasha Basu is set to foray into Hollywood with a phenomenal role offered to her by Ben Kinglsey. Her first international project will be a Mughal historical featuring Aishwarya Rai who in fact plays her mother in the film.
Bipasha will play Jahanara Begum in the film—that’s Mumtaz Mahal's (Aishwarya Rai) devoted daughter. “It’s a very special character that Ben has asked me to play. We've already spoken about it, and now we need to work out the dates,” Bipasha reveals.
“The movie is on the building of the Taj Mahal,” said Kingsley, who is producing the film. “The romance will also include Shah Jahan's isolation for years in a prison cell.”
Kingsley said his production house was currently working with a scriptwriter on the project.
He said Rai agreed to do the movie when he spoke to her during the filming of The Last Legion- a Hollywood epic about the Roman Empire.
Kingsley won the best-actor Oscar for Richard Attenborough's ``Gandhi'' in the 1980s. He is well known in India for his portrayal of the independence leader and champion of nonviolence.
In his latest movie, You Kill Me, Kingsley played a hit man being rehabilitated for alcoholism.
