Mumbai: Actress Alia Bhatt was moved to tears after watching Hansal Mehta's 'CityLights' and could not stop praising lead actors Rajkummar Rao and Patralekha for their brilliant performance.
'CityLights' is a drama presented by Fox Star Studios in association with Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt. Recently, Alia hosted a special screening of her father's upcoming home production for her family and friends.
"After watching the film, I was speechless. It was outstanding. We already have a national award winner, Rajkummar Rao in the film. But Patralekha... this is her debut film and she has acted so well which I don't think I can ever touch upon," Alia said in a statement here.
Alia was in for a complete surprise and was awestruck by the performance of both the actors in the film.
"After 'Highway', I always used to see if people have tears in their eyes. Then I think that the movie is a hit. I came out crying of the theatre, so the director was very happy," she said.
The film is based on the life of a trader in Rajasthan who comes to the city of Mumbai with his wife and daughter in hope of a better life. It is releasing on May 30.
