An over-speeding BMW car killed one person and injured two others after it jumped a red light in Punjab’s Mohali. The car has been taken into custody and an investigation is underway.
Local reports stated that the deceased is an 18-year-old boy, who was riding a motorcycle with two friends. The BMW hit them from behind near Lohgarh turn on the Zirakpur-Patiala highway.
According to News18 Punjabi, the passers-by admitted the seriously injured victims to local JP Hospital. The doctors then referred one of the injured to Chandigarh’s Sector 32 hospital as his condition was extremely serious. However on arrival, he passed away. The deceased has been identified as Sahib.
Other injured, Rajveer and Sumit, are undergoing treatment. It is being said that the car was at such a high speed that all parts of BMW were damaged.

The accident comes days after a similar crash in Maharashtra’s Pune led to national outrage. On May 19 in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar area, a drunken 17-year-old boy crushed two bike-borne IT professionals to death with his Porsche car.
