New Delhi: After relishing in a bit of glamour it was down to doing what the boys do best.
However, only this time it was a performance in tribute to Mahatma Gandhi for whom Amaan and Ayaan Khan have assisted their sarod maestro father Amjad Ali Khan and taken out an album called Remembering Mahatma Gandhi.
After a brief introduction by the young Khans it was time for their teacher and main conceiver of the album to raise the barrier.
And Amjad Ali's fingers may be seasoned in the sarod, rendering a 'raghupati raghav raja ram' is still a task.
“The song is a challenge to take on songs on the sarod but we have tried to get the best of it,” says Amjad Ali.
The album is pleasant and has Amjad Ali's experience blending in well with Amaan and Ayaan’s pace and vocals.
It is definitely a commendable experimentation on tracks that one would have never imagined on the sarod. The Mahatma would have definitely found it soothing.
