BANGALORE: As the new year is arriving, the city is gearing up with new shows, events and other programmes. Janashree, a Kannada channel is starting a programme that makes people aware of the tradition and culture of the city. This is a brand new programme for the viewers on the New Year.The launch of the new programme, ‘Bengaluru, idu namma uru’ was inaugurated by music director Raghu Dixit, actress Shubha Poonja, historian Suresh Muna, and the chief of Janashree channel Ananth Chinivar.Suresh Muna has carried out an extensive research on Bangalore. The programme will consist of Bangalore’s history, people and culture. It will also showcase the city’s history, monuments, food specialties, and famous people who reside in various areas. Along with that, there will be interactive sessions which will involve public opinion. The channel through this programme will come forward to save the traditions and cultures of the city. Chinivar, said “The programme aims to make people aware of various aspects of Bengaluru which we are generally unaware of. Along with introducing the past and present Bengaluru to the people, the programme also tries to depict how the tomorrow’s Bengaluru will be and how it should be. Everybody should love and care despite the fact that most Bangaloreans now are those ones who have come from other states and countries and have settled here.”
