HYDERABAD: The Telugu Desam has decided to wage a legal as well as political fight over the issue of CBI probe into party president N Chandrababu Naidu’s assets. On the legal front, TDP leaders are contemplating filing a vacation petition in the High Court seeking withdrawal of its decision of ordering a probe into Naidu’s assets.Though Naidu was the main respondent in the case filed by YS Vijayamma, he would not file the vacation petition himself. Some party leaders will file the petition stating that the High Court ordered the probe without hearing the argument of the respondents, including Naidu. The TDP is of the view that it was against the ‘principles of natural justice’.While filing the petition, the TDP will also tell the people that it is not against the CBI probe into Naidu’s assets but only wants ‘natural justice’.The party is confident that once the court hears their arguments and the past orders of courts on Naidu’s assets, he may emerge unsullied and unscathed. On the political front, the TDP plans to thoroughly expose both the ruling Congress and YSR Congress.Chandrababu Naidu will be in Delhi on November 21 and 22 as per his earlier schedule to confer with national leaders on farmers’ problems. He will use the occasion to explain to them how the Congress is using the CBI as a tool to defame him. The TDP feels the Congress, finding it hard to digest the growing popularity of the TDP, is trying to defame the opposition.Naidu will tell the national opposition leaders that the Congress is targeting his party since Naidu is capable of bringing all non-Congress and non-BJP parties on one platform at the national level.“The Congress is considering the TDP as a potential threat at the national level,” a TDP leader claimed.
