New Delhi: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday put her weight behind her Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal, who called her up for "advice" amid a bitter stand-off with Lt Governor Najeeb Jung over powers.
"Too much interference in the federal structure is unacceptable. The state govt is an elected body. Central government is also an elected body," Banerjee tweeted.
"Every elected body has its own jurisdiction. One must respect the other," she said in another tweet.
Her tweets indicated her showing solidarity with Kejriwal, who is locked in a bitter stand-off with the the Delhi Lt Governor over powers.
She tweeted as Kerjriwal called her up for "advice", sources said.
The sources added that Banerjee would be closely following the developments in Delhi. Kejriwal had called up Banerjee earlier also, about a month back, the sources said.
