Union Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has been made BJP's incharge of elections in Jharkhand where assembly polls are due early next year.
BJP President Amit Shah made the appointment and asked Pradhan to take charge of party's Jharkhand poll affairs with immediate effect.
Shah also made party MP Bhupinder Yadav as been co-incharge of the party's election affairs in Jharkhand.
The two leaders will work in close coordination with party leaders in Jharkhand and start the process of selecting party candidates in the state.
The term of the current 81-member Jharkhand assembly ends on January 3, 2015 and elections are to be held before that.
BJP is seeking to wrest control of Jharkhand from JMM-Congress-RJD alliance with Hemant Soren of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha as Chief Minister.
