Hyderabad: Congress MP and former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin reached Hyderabad on Monday to see his 19-year old son Ayazuddin who was injured in a bike accident on Sunday.
Ayazuddin was critical and on ventilator support in the Apollo hospital.
According to a medical bulletin issued by the Apollo hospital, "The patient (Ayazuddin) continues to be in a very critical condition and is currently on a ventilator. He has multi-organ failure and is being supported with medication and other treatment to maintain his vital functions.
"The prognosis and outcome are guarded due to the severity of the injury and continued instability," the bulletin, issued at 11 am, said.
A specialist team of doctors are working round-the-clock to ensure the best medical care possible to the 19-year-old who was injured in a motorbike accident on Sunday.
Azharuddin's nephew Ajmal, who was the pillion rider, succumbed to his injuries after the accident on Sunday and was declared dead.
According to police, the mishap occurred around 9 am near Puppalguda toll-gate on Outer Ring Road when the Suzuki Sports Bike, which Ayazuddin and Ajmal were riding, skidded.
