A young girl in Varanasi pulled off a bold scooter theft in broad daylight. The girl, who was in school uniform, convinced the owner of the vehicle to hand over the keys under the pretence of needing to move it aside. What followed next is no less than a plot straight out of a film where she calmly started the scooter and rode off. A CCTV footage of the daring heist that happened in Varanasi’s Kabir Nagar is all over the Internet.

“Kindly take urgent action on the theft of my friend Sarika’s scooty in Varanasi. Requesting your intervention to resolve this at the earliest. Attaching the newspaper clip for reference,” wrote an X user while sharing the CCTV footage online.
As per the complaint that the victim filed in Bhelupur Police Station, the incident occurred around 9:30 am when a young girl approached the victim, requesting the keys to her scooter, claiming she needed to move it aside to carry some items upstairs.
The victim trusted the girl and handed over the keys and asked her neighbour to keep an eye on her. Moments later, the girl began moving the blue TVS Jupiter scooter, only to unexpectedly take off with it.

The CCTV footage shows the young girl in school uniform moving the scooter aside, before cautiously turning it around and riding off with it.

Earlier, miscreants in Bengaluru’s Indiranagar used a special tool to break into cars parked on a busy street and stole laptops and valuables in broad daylight. While one thief distracted the guard, the other smashed windows of cars with a special device and quickly made off with their loot. In yet another incident, a software engineer in Tamil Nadu fell victim to a brazen theft in broad daylight. The software engineer shared the CCTV footage with News18.com where a thief can be seen breaking the window of the car and quickly making off with his loot.
