CHENNAI: In an attempt to identify the perpetrators of the Keelkattalai bank robbery case, police sources said that they would be gathering CCTV footage from banks in the locality. Sketches of the suspects were also being drawn with inputs from staff and customers who were present during the incident.Police said that there were branches of close to 10 banks - both private and nationalised - on the Medavakkam High Road stretch. Footage from the past week would be gathered from banks which have CCTVs and scanned for persons appearing repeatedly. Bank staff and customers, who stood witness for the bank heist on Monday, would later be asked to check the footage to see if they could identify persons, sources added.Police have also begun investigations using sketches drawn from the previous bank heist in Perungudi. These sketches will be shown to the Keelkattalai bank staff for possible identification. Sources said that tips provided by the witnesses were not consistent which made it difficult. The police have also shown a photograph of an offender from Tirupur, known for his hand in bank robberies, to the people present at the scene of crime to check on the offender’s possible involvement.
