Days after a 24-year-old woman from Bihar was brutally killed inside her PG in Bengaluru, the police managed to access the CCTV footage from the day of the heinous crime.
As per the CCTV clip, the accused can be seen entering the PG, he then knocked on the door and slit her throat even as the victim screamed for help.
The crime was committed between 11:10 pm and 11:30 pm. The footage also shows the accused escaping from the crime spot.
What Exactly Happened?
A 24-year-old woman from Bihar, identified as Kruthi Kumari, was brutally murdered late Tuesday night at her PG accommodation in Bengaluru. Kumari, who worked at a private company in the city, had recently moved into the VR Layout PG in Koramangala.
The Koramangala Police, upon arriving at the scene, initiated a thorough investigation. Additional Commissioner of Police Raman Gupta confirmed that a case has been registered and stated that the perpetrator was known to the victim. He added that efforts are underway to apprehend the suspect, who is currently on the run.
Police Probe Roommate’s Role
According to the police sources, the assailant entered the PG after the caretakers, who also reside at the PG, had gone for dinner.
The police also suspect some links with the deceased’s former female roommate and the assailant who had recently moved out from the PG and it is also believed that the deceased was known to the assailant because of her former roommate.
Preliminary inquiries also suggest a possible romantic angle to the crime. There are suspicions that a young man killed Kruthi Kumari she was romantically involved with.
Notably, the said roommate was a school classmate of the assailant and Krithi Kumari and her former roommate worked at the same company.
Police sources informed the phone of the accused is switched off and his last location was Bengaluru. Teams dispatched to nab the accused at the earliest
Police are yet to record the statement of Kruthi’s former roommate.
