Janta Party (BJP) state president G Kishan Reddy has demanded that the state
government immediately call for an Assembly session to discuss power crisis in
the state.He
also demanded that government convene an allparty meeting to discuss power situation
and prepare agenda for Assembly sessions.The
BJP state committee in Hyderabad on
Friday laid a siege to Vidyut Soudha where top leaders of party and a large
number of saffron activists were arrested by the police. When protesters tried to crash the gate, police and party activists jostled
each other.BJP
leader G Kishan Reddy, party MLAs Y Laxminarayana, N M Srinivas Reddy, former
union minister for state B Dattatreya, BJP city president G Venkatreddy marched
towards Vidyut Soudha from Khiratabad centre by chanting slogans against the
chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and the Congress.Police
arrested all the leaders and cadre in phased manner and shifted them to
different police stations.Addressing
a gathering at Vidyut Soudha, BJP state president G Kishan Reddy strongly
criticised state government’s attitude towards the power sector.He
alleged that the Congress did not have vision on power generation, supply and
demand and said the power crisis has hampered the lives of people belonging to
all sections of the society.Kishan
Reddy warned the state government that if the government fails to improve the
power situation, people would come to street to intensify the protest.
He further demanded that the state government prepare
a comprehensive action plan to overcome the power situation and ensure a
seven-hour free power supply to agricultural sector.
