BANGALORE: Former MP and well-known wildlife photographer M Y Ghorpade said that Britishers might have been thrown out of the country with ease had Indian kings maintained unity among themselves.
He was speaking at a function organised to release books on his grandfather Murarirao, an eminent commander of Gooty province. The books, A Professional in Courage (Murarirao Ghorpade and 18th Century Deccan) and Saahasada Ondu Seemaa Rekhe (Murarirao and Deccan of 18th Century) were released by Ghorpade's grandchildren. Ghorpade said that rulers of Indian provinces had confined their activities to their respective provinces and this attitude had helped Britishers to expand their rule in the country.
