A Pakistan intruder was nabbed by the Border Security Force (BSF) near Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur on Sunday. The intruder was handed over to Punjab Police who have begun investigations.
Two mobile phones and one sim card was recovered from the intruder. He is the resident of Bahawalpur in Pakistan and is 26 years old. A case has been registered by Dera Baba Nanak police station.
This development comes days after a car snatched by 3 unknown men from Pathankot was recovered in Gurdaspur district. A Ford fiesta car was snatched away by 3 unknown men at gunpoint on Wednesday near Sujanpur.
It was recovered from Pasyal village in Gurdaspur district. The man, whose car was stolen, had claimed that the three men came to him asking for petrol, following which they threatened him on gunpoint.
Notably, terrorists who launched attacks on Pathankot Air base in January allegedly hijacked a Punjab police officer's car to get to the air base.
Six Pakistani terrorists, suspected to be belonging to Jaish-e-Mohammad, had attacked the airbase on January 2 in which seven security personnel were killed. In the gun-battle, all the six terrorists were also killed.
