New Delhi: Independent filmmaking in India has shown a tremendous growth in recent years. Director Jagdish Rajpurohit's forthcoming comedy 'Bumboo' is the latest indie film on the block. The film revolves around a hitman and a photographer who accidently reach to the same hotel.
Kavin Dave, who is playing the loser photographer in the film says," I am a photo journalist in the film who is very upset in his life because his wife has left him. He has turned suicidal and wants his wife back. It's a crazy character 'Su Su', a short name for Suresh Sudhakar."
Kavin has been seen in TV commercials in the past and have come from the theatre background," I have done theatre with Jagdish, in fact I met him at a play by Satyadev Dubey."
Sharat Saxena seems to be the biggest name associated with the film. His appearance as villain in Vikram Bhatt's 'Ghulam' is still fresh in the audiences' mind. Sharat says," Well, Raunak Singh has grown up a little. From a retired boxer, he has become an international hitman. My character used to kill crows in farms when he was young, then he finally promoted himself to a killer, and then he became a very good killer. He is more dangerous than the terminator. A professional who doesn't smile or laugh. Unfortunately there is an idiot photographer in the room adjacent to him who just barges into his room. In the end, the killer becomes a saint in Varanasi."
When asked whether it was difficult to do comedy with a straight face Sharat says," If I will start laughing then what will the audiences do?"
Sumit Kaul will also be seen in a pivotal role in the film," I am playing a psychiatrist but he does the first 'bumboo' of the film. He seems likable from the outside but is very business minded from inside. He convinces a woman to leave her husband and come to him. I am actually the 'biwi-chor'. He is not a villain but he is not bothered about others too."
'Bumboo' is scheduled to hit the screens on March 30.####
