BANGALORE: The state Cabinet on Monday approved the Union government’s proposal to set up a ‘Centre of Innovation and Good Governance’ estimated to cost over Rs 43 crore, in the city.Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Suresh Kumar outlined the functions of the centre, and added that it would serve as a consulting body for the state government for implementing policies and programmes, improving the quality of services and invoking the recommendations of the Administrative Reforms Commission.He said that the proposed centre would be an autonomous body registered under Societies Act.Suresh Kumar said the centre would be managed by a governing council and management committee headed by the Chief Minister and 11 other members, while the Chief Secretary would be the member secretary.
