GADAG: Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda clarified that the state cabinet will be expanded only after Koppal by-elections and the matter had not been discussed with party central leadership during the Nagpur meeting.He told the media after the Gadag district review meeting here on Wednesday that party president Nitin Gadkari and other leaders had discussed some other important issues at the meeting which cannot be disclosed at the moment. He also informed that former minister G Janardhana Reddy’s detention issue was discussed in the meeting and the leaders were given instructions to also convince former minister B Sriramulu to withdraw his resignation. We are all trying our best to tackle these problems and are involving ourselves in the campaign of the Koppal by-elections.Following the bomb blast that took place at Delhi High Court on Wednesday, he alleged that the UPA government had neglected its internal security and the congress party has put the people of the country in harm’s way.“The UPA government has failed to curb anti-national elements and even after the Mumbai attacks, many attacks have been made by Pakistan and its co-organisations. Unfortunately, the congress has been playing political cards with these elements,” he alleged.The state is serious about the internal security and we are installing a special squad that includes 300 skilled personnel to tackle any emergency situations, he said. He added that the government is planning to also strengthen the intelligence wing of the police department.
