KOCHI: A Canadian citizen approached the Kerala High Court on Friday seeking a CBI probe into the missing of Rs 1 crore deposited in the HNL extension branch of the erstwhile Centurian Bank, presently the HDFC Bank.Petitioner Subhash Mehta submitted that no effort had been made by the Velloor police to question the beneficiaries and to find out the authenticity of the transaction made by him. He submitted that he had been maintaining NRI accounts with several banks in India and has an investment of Rs 45 crore. Mehta also said that he had invested in certain agro farms.In his submission, Mehta said that he had opened an account in the bank in 2002 and sent a demand draft for Rs 1 crore. After a few years, he received an anonymous call stating misappropriation of his amount. When inquired, it was understood that a fraud had been committed by the bank officials.
