BHUBANESWAR: There is hope for Biswajit Padhi. Under treatment at the Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre in Cuttack for blood cancer, the 10-year-old has in fact begun weaving dreams of resuming studies and joining friends in the playground. For doctors have said he would make good progress provided he is accorded full treatment. But father Bishnu Charan Padhi is desperately downcast. A small-time paan shop owner in Nayapalli area, he is in no way capable of continuing with the treatment any longer. “I have exhausted all my resources, sold my land and belongings for his treatment. How do I take his treatment, particularly the expensive chemotherapy sessions ahead,” Bishnu laments. The father and family members have sought assistance from philanthropists and organisations to come forward to save the life of the child. He can be contacted on 9938040419.
