CBI raids politically motivated: Jagan

HYDERABAD: YSR Congress president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has described the CBI raids on his premises as politically- motivated.Speaking to national television channels at Nuzvid in Krishna district, the Kadapa MP said the income tax department’s notice, filing of petitions in the High Court and the CBI raids were planned by Congress leaders out of spite.“I left the Congress on November 29 and I got income tax department’s notice on December 29.Now all central agencies are after me.What is it if not political vendetta?’’ The son of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy termed as baseless all the allegations made against him that he had taken advantage of his father’s position to build a financial empire through dubious methods.“No one can point a finger at me because I was never in power.I never stepped inside the premises of the state secretariat.Had I leveraged on my father’s position and sought favours from ministers or bureaucrats?” he asked and reiterated that to ruin him the Congress had joined hands with the Telugu Desam.The petition against him in the High Court was a clear case in point, he said, referring to textiles minister P Shankar Rao writing to the High Court and a little later Telugu Desam leaders approaching the same High Court with a similar petition, the MP said.
