CBI team in Bellary

BELLARY: The CBI team probing illegal mining in border areas on the direction of Andhra Pradesh government has landed in Bellary to collect more information about six mining companies, including Obulapuram Mining Company owned by Tourism Minister G Janardhan Reddy.The 10-member team led by Dy SP Khan, came to Bellary on Thursday and visited Tumati and Vit halapur regions and the OMC check post area, from where GPS readings of mining leases were taken, sources said.The team will be in the district for a few days to conduct enquiries into the alleged encroachment of Bellary reserve forest.
