A CCTV footage of the 17-year-old speeding his Porsche moments before it hit a motorcycle in Pune resulting in the death of two people, has surfaced on the internet. The accused driver, four months short of turning 18, was intoxicated at the time of the accident near Kalyani Nagar junction on Sunday.

The 17-year-old car driver was detained and a case was registered against him under relevant provisions.
According to the FIR, a group of friends after a party at a restaurant in the area was returning home on their motorbikes. Near the Kalyani Nagar junction, a speeding luxury car hit one of the two-wheelers following which its two riders fell from the vehicle and died on the spot.
After crashing into the motorcycle, the driver of the car rammed it into the roadside pavement railings. A video surfaced on social media where a group of people were seen thrashing the boy as he tried to come out of the vehicle.

The victims, both techie hailing from Madhya Pradesh and residing in Pune, died on the spot. The deceased were identified as Anis Awadiya (24) and Ashwini Costa (24).
The teenage driver, however, was granted bail by the Juvenile Justice Board. The board asked the 17-year-old to work with the traffic police in Yerawada for 15 days, write an essay on the accident, get medical treatment to quit drinking and undergo psychiatric counselling.
Another CCTV footage of the 17-year-old accused showed him drinking with his friends hours before the accident.
Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said police have urged the court to treat the accused as an adult since it was a “heinous crime”.
