KOCHI: After several years, most of India came together to celebrate Eid on the same day. Usually as a result of the clear sighting of moon and coastal conditions, Kerala sees the Moon a day earlier. Hence, the Ramzan begins a day earlier and ends a day earlier in Kerala. But on Monday, because of the cloudy weather, Moon was not sighted in the state. Hence Kerala was able to celebrate it together with the rest of the country. Moreover this has meant that Muslims of Kerala could observe fast for 30 whole days, which again is considered auspicious.
