Rahul Dholakia has not been in a great mood lately. The Parzania director is really miffed with the Central Board of Film Certification (Censor Board). He is facing a lot of roadblocks to get a certificate for his latest film Lamhaa.
Rahul says, "I don't know why the Censor Board feels responsible for the Government. They just get so scared of everything. The Censors don't have double standards, they have multiple standards. They had problems with my promos earlier, and now they have issues with the film."
Many filmmakers have had issues in the past with the Board. They have been mercilessly told to chop off important scenes from their films.
Rahul says, "A film like Rang De Basanti will not have a problem if the minister is shot dead. But everything in my film will have problem because it is based in Kashmir."
When asked if he has received any threats for making a film on a sensitive issue, he quips, "Censor boards are the biggest threat in the country. We make films risking our lives and this is how an important subject gets handled by them."
Rahul is still waiting for a certificate from the Censor Board. The film is set to hit theatres on July 16.
