Chaos reigned supreme after the sixth convocation of the Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University here on Thursday, with several students alleging that they did not receive their degree certificates.
Though the issue cropped up even before the convocation could commence, the students were requested to occupy the seats with an assurance that their grievances would be sorted out.
However, the issue took centre stage, minutes after the departure of the dignitaries from the Centenary Hall at the University of Madras, the convocation venue.
Dressed in graduation robes, some students rushed to the stage and announced over the mike that several students had not received their degree certificates.
According to Veeravelu, a student who had passed out of the Government Law College in Chengalpattu, students from seven law colleges in the State were supposed to receive their certificates during the convocation on Thursday.
However, many did not get their degree certificates, he claimed.

“As soon as I received
the admit card, I rushed to Chennai. But, the purpose of my visit has not been served,” he added.
