New Delhi: Days after reports emerged Delhi Police planning to file a chargesheet against 21 Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs, Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia claimed that charges against the MLAs are fabricated.

"If it is a fight against corruption then there are no ifs and buts. There are charges on me that I instigated a riot when I was sitting for a dharna in front of Sonia Gandhi's residence. I had the tricolour in my hand but in the chargesheet it was written that I was carrying some deadly weapon. If those are the charges against me then I am ready to face the charges. The charges against Arvind Kejriwal is of similar nature. I don't know about the current list," he said.

Unperturbed by the charges against him, Sisodia said that all 67 MLAs are ready to go to jail. "If there are charges on 67 people all 67 people should be in jail including me. If we really have committed any crime we should be in jail. There is no confrontation about it," he said.

He added that people have chosen him and they will continue their fight against corruption. "We are working for the people. People have chosen us to fight against corruption. This is our biggest strength. One of the officers of Delhi Police is caught taking bribe of Rs 10,000 and has been caught red handed. The whole Delhi Police moves court and hires big lawyers so that the officer is granted bail. We are fighting against these things. There are so many honest officers in Delhi Police but instances like these spoil the image of Delhi Police.

Claiming that they are ready for any probe, he said that it shouldn't happen that our officer has been caught red handed taking bribe yet we appeal in high court for a bail and big lawyers for the accused. "I don't know why people are trying to save these people, why authorities are preventing these people from getting arrested," he added.

Delhi Police is preparing to file chargesheet against 21 party MLAs in various cases. Out of the 25 cases, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been named in six cases.
