Zakir Hussain was detained for allegedly having connections with an ISI agent in Pakistan.

Chennai: Sri Lankan national Zakir Hussain, who was detained by the Tamil Nadu police last Tuesday, was produced before the 13th metropolitan magistrate of the Egmore court in Chennai on Monday. He will be in police custody for three days.

He was detained for allegedly having connections with an ISI agent in Pakistan. Reports suggest that during his interrogation, he spoke about possible terror plots on two consulates in South India.

Some unconfirmed sources in the Intelligence agencies in New Delhi claim that he was in India to conduct recce operations for an attack and two ISI attackers from Maldives were expected to carry out the mission. They claim that he was planning to target the American Consulate in Chennai and the Israeli Consulate in Bangalore.
