Class 9 Boy Stabbed to Death by Senior in School Toilet in Gujarat's Vadodara
Preliminary investigation has revealed that there was a dispute between the murdered boy, who was a new entrant, and the other student for the past couple of days.

Vadodara: A Class IX student was found dead inside the toilet of a school in Gujarat’s Vadodara on Friday with multiple stab wounds on his body, police said.

Dev Bhagwandas Tadvi (14), a student of Bharti School in Baranpora area, was accosted by unidentified culprits when he was headed to his classroom on the first floor, the police said.

According to the police, prima facie it looks like the boy was stabbed by a student of Class X. An official who reached to the spot, said the body of the 14-year-old was found in the first-floor toilet near the tenth standard classroom.

The incident took place around 12 noon, between the two shifts of the school, they added.

Vadodara DCP RS Bhagora said that two students had a fight in which one of them died. Tadvi had 10 stab wounds on his body, he added. “Reason of the incident has not been ascertained as of now. We're checking security arrangements of the school. Further investigation is underway,” he said.

The teen had joined the school only a week ago and was staying with his maternal uncle here, while his parents live in Gujarat's Anand town, the police said.

The police have questioned four students till now. “It is clear that one of them, who is a Class 10 student, committed the murder. But one of the other three might have assisted him. The facts will soon be out,” Vadodara commissioner of police Manoj Shahidhar said.

Police said that the school bag, which belongs to the accused, was full of weapons including three big knives and a bottle filled with chilly powder water. Another 12-inch long knife was found near the body, they added.

Tadvi's body has been sent to Sir Sayajirao General Hospital for autopsy, Bhagora said, adding that the police hoped to arrest the culprits soon. A Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team has reached the spot and CCTV footage of the premises has been obtained, police added.

The incident is a grim reminder of the murder of a seven-year-old student in a school in Gurugram. The boy was found dead inside a toilet of the school with his throat slit on September 8 last year. The case was later taken over by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The Gurgaon Police had hurriedly arrested the conductor of a school bus and even claimed that they managed to secure his confession. However, later it was revealed that the cops had extracted the confession from him by force.

Later, CBI sleuths arrested a Class XI student. They claimed that the accused minor had slit the seven-year-old’s throat and killed him to create chaos at school and ultimately postpone an examination and Parent-Teacher Meeting.
