Kim Clijsters saved four match points in a second-set to beat Li Na 4-6, 7-6 (6), 6-4.
Melbourne: Defending champion Kim Clijsters saved four match points in a second-set tiebreaker before going on to beat 2011 French Open winner Li Na 4-6, 7-6 (6), 6-4 in the fourth round at the Australian Open on Sunday.
Clijsters, who injured her left ankle in the seventh game and needed a medical timeout to have her ankle heavily taped, broke a shattered Li's service twice in the first three games of the third set of a match that was a replay of last year's final at Melbourne Park.
Still, Clijsters needed to serve for the match twice before clinching it in more than 2 1/2 hours.
Clijsters will play the winner of Sunday night's fourth-round match between top-seeded Caroline Wozniacki and Jelena Jankovic in the quarterfinals.
